a rather spontaneous sashiko project – this denim shirt. i had bought it secind hand a few years ago and after a few more years of wear and tear the fabric had started to become thin and soft. that's why i strengthened it with sashiko embrioidery. the pattern is my design that was quick to work, because it only has straight lines and does not need to be worked in several "layers" like some more complext patterns.
as always i worked with coron sashiko thread (the thread had a re-branding and is now available under its new brand name the sashiko thread curated by upcycle stiches).
the shirt will for sure be stitched some more, because the thinned out areas are not exclusive to the backside, but for now it's ready to wear for a bit longer. but the thinning will continue and ask for more stitches quite soon.
