tiny quilt mit biesen/pintucks als 3d-strukturelement

my collection of tiny quilts with 3d structural elements has been growing for some time now (you can find them in the older posts about tiny quilts; i will write a separate entry about them soon). the latest of these is a small quilt with freely worked pintucks that run across the surface like veins or branches.

the pattern wasn't marked out beforehand, i let it develop while i was sewing; i like to work this way - the quilts are allowed to develop their own dynamic and the materials can help determine the final design, so to speak.

the quilt top is made of linen, which is ideal for the small pleats - linen keeps folds and creases as soon as you have folded it with your fingers, fingernail, hera marker or another marking tool. so you don't even need an iron, which is particularly practical when travelling, and the folds work themselves very smoothly by hand.
